Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot series follows the titular detective as he solves murder mysteries around the world. The novels all have a very similar, "cookie cutter" plotline, represented by the basic shapes, and the textures are reminiscent of passport stamps, reflecting Poirot's worldly adventures. To achieve this effect, I took created collages out of construction paper, photocopied them, and then used sandpaper to add texture to the printouts before scanning them. This texture makes the compositions feel less blocky and adds visual interest.
